Ricky Martin is firing back at his nephew who accused him of sexual abuse — via an alleged 7-month incestuous relationship — by filing a $20M lawsuit.
Back in July, we shared that several Spanish outlets operating in Puerto Rico reported that the 50 year old “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer had allegedly been hit with a domestic violence restraining order in his home country. The reports claimed that the alleged victim was someone other than his husband of 5 years, Jwan Yosef.
Then, we learned that it was his 21-year-old nephew in Puerto Rico that had accused him of sexual abuse, claiming the two had an incestuous relationship.
Ricky’s nephew alleged that he and Ricky had an incestuous relationship. The nephew claimed that he and his uncle were “romantically and sexually” involved for 7 months, and that when things ended, Ricky allegedly stalked and harassed him.
Ricky vehemently denied the allegations against him. Via a statement from the singer’s lawyer, Martin Singer, they claimed Ricky’s nephew was “struggling” with his mental health.
Singer added, “Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be– involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew. The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.”

Soon after, Ricky’s nephew withdrew his claims with the court, and subsequently, his temporary restraining order was dismissed.
Ricky celebrated the victory on his Instagram with a statement that read:
“Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the Court. The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure, and the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter.
The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case. This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career.”

Ricky Martin Files $20M Lawsuit Against Nephew Who Accused Him Of Sexual Abuse
Now, Ricky claims he’s been “persecuted, besieged, harassed, stalked and extorted by a maladjusted person,” being his nephew.
A report states that earlier today (Wednesday, September, 7), Ricky filed a $20 million lawsuit in San Juan against Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, for trying to “assassinate” his reputation, costing him multi-million dollar deals.
Ricky also says that a month after Dennis withdrew his claims, he allegedly DM’d his uncle on Instagram, threatening to “assassinate his reputation and integrity” unless he forked over some dinero.
The Latin singer also states that before Dennis filed his restraining order, he was publicly boasting about his famous uncle and being his nephew. The singer claims his nephew would sometimes flood him with messages, even 10 in just one day, at that this went on for 4 months.
Ricky also claimed that the nephew took things even further after posting his cell phone number on his Instagram and then making an Instagram account for one his children, adding how it made him uncomfortable.
And now, he just feels “unsafe” in his own country of Puerto Rico. So, in his lawsuit, Ricky is asking for the judge to order his nephew cease all contact with him and his family.
