Looks like the Red Table Talk is intending to address Will Smith and Chris Rock’s viral altercation, but when the time is right. According to The Hollywood Reporter.
As we reported, in a message at the beginning of Wednesday’s episode of the Emmy-winning Facebook Watch series, hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith, her daughter Willow Smith and her mother Adrienne Banfield, the show shared a message seemingly explaining Smith smacking Chris Rock at this year’s Academy Awards, and the backlash that followed, will be addressed in some ability.

“Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focused on deep healing,” the message reads. “Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls.”

The message does not indicate when the show might speak on the physical altercation between Smith and Rock and the components that followed — including Smith’s 10-year ban from the Oscars — will be talked over. However, it does go on to guarantee that “the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies” until that unrevealed date.
The message circulated ahead of a conversation with eight-time Grammy nominee Janelle Monáe, who discusses her no longer specifying as a woman, what inspired her to come out at age 32, and how she withstood fears of abandonment and healed from trauma around her father’s drug addiction.

Other pre-taped episodes scheduled to air, this season will star Ireland Baldwin and her mother and Oscar-winning actress Kim Basinger, Tinder Swindler victim Ayleen Charlotte and Rachel DeLoache Williams, best-selling author of My Friend Anna which chronicles being scammed by fake German heiress Anna Delvey, as well as Smith siblings Willow, Jaden and Trey in their first solo episode.

As we previously reported, during the taping of the 2022 Oscars show, Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss. The comedian referred to her as staring in the next ‘GI Jane 2.’ Which led Will Smith to get out of his seat and go on stage and slap Chris Rock on live television. Smith has apologized since the incident, but Chris Rock has still been fairly quiet.
#Socialites are we still waiting for the Smith’s to publicly speak out about the altercation? Or is it too late?
