Raven-Symoné’s wife Miranda Pearman-Maday is her biggest fan these days, but before the happy couple began dating, she wasn’t that familiar with her partner’s TV credentials.
Now, we all know Raven’s resume is very long, from starring in Disney Channel’s Cheetah Girls to Dr. Dolittle 2, The Princess Diaries, and The Cosby Show. But according to the 36-year-old actress, Miranda had never seen an episode of perhaps Raven’s most iconic show, That’s So Raven.
Despite its four-year run from 2003 to 2007, the YouTube personality apparently paid the family series no attention — which Raven is actually happy about because it’s allowed her to be “seen” in her relationship. “It’s fantastic,” the Atlanta native said in a new episode of The Tamron Hall Show.

“Imagine being in a relationship with someone who doesn’t look at you like a famous person even though you have been famous your whole entire life. You get to be seen.”

Raven went on to say, “And Miranda provided me with a reality with an honest conversation to the point where she forgets that I’m Raven-Symoné or doesn’t even consider me that person.”
The doting couple, who are believed to have started dating back in 2015 before tying the knot in 2020, have recently shared their views on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ shocking decision to validate the “Don’t Say Gay” bill in the state.

Last month, the bill was signed into law, which prohibits schools from teaching children about sexual orientation and gender identity, including minors in preschool through the third grade.
Many celebrities have spoken out about the astounding ruling, from Ariana Grande to Kerry Washington and Shawn Mendes. And Raven, too, has weighed in on the matter in March after taking to her Instagram, revealing she had ditched filming for her Disney Channel spin-off Raven’s Home to protest against the bill’s legislation.
“In support of our LGBTQ+ family and all of those who will be damaged by the ‘don’t say gay bill’ we the cast of ‘Raven’s Home’ are walking out,” the TV star captioned her IG post. “In today’s world it is imperative that we take stands, show support, and move forward not backwards.”
When she was later quizzed by TODAY about her stance on Gov. Ron DeSantis’ verdict, Raven added, “I’m going to say this, and this is my thing: If there’s a ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, there should be a ‘Don’t Say Straight’ bill.”
