Former child star Raquel Lee Bolleau is speaking out with harrowing allegations against The Walt Disney Company. In a civil negligence lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday, Aug. 21, the 39-year-old actress alleges she was sexually assaulted by a middle-aged male Disney employee while filming the network’s original movie, The Poof Point, back in 2001.
Bolleau, who was just 14 at the time, claims the unnamed employee repeatedly assaulted her after providing her with alcohol while the production was filming in Salt Lake City and during a flight back to California.

The Amanda Show actress further alleges that Disney failed to protect her despite clear warning signs. According to the complaint, production staff allegedly separated her from her guardian, failed to provide proper supervision, and even instructed her to “bond” and spend time with the employee in question.
Bolleau claims the abuse was happening right under the nose of the production, alleging the employee would “torment” her on set by whispering comments like “last night was so good” in plain view of other adults—and that “no one at Disney intervened.”
The lawsuit highlights that adults on set reportedly noticed a dramatic shift in Bolleau’s behavior, noting that she appeared sick and intoxicated, which was a “stark difference from the dedicated, studious and diligent child actress who had joined the movie.” Instead of investigating, Bolleau alleges that Disney executives blamed her for her deteriorating performance, labeled her “out of control,” and ultimately canceled a planned role for her.
Bolleau is now seeking damages for economic losses, emotional distress, and punitive damages.
In a statement to PEOPLE, her attorneys, Douglas Wigdor and Jane Kim, said, “Over the last decade, countless child actors have come forward to bravely share their experiences of abuse by adults in entertainment. As former government prosecutors, our message to the entertainment industry is simple: This conduct is inexcusable, and those involved — directly or indirectly — must be held accountable.”
Following The Poof Point, Bolleau went on to voice a recurring role in the hit Disney Channel series The Proud Family, returning for the Disney+ revival The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, which concluded its run in 2025.
