Protesters Gather At Jail To Demand Release Of Wendy’s Arson Suspect

Protesters have gathered outside the Fulton County Jail after Natalie White, the woman accused of burning down the Wendy’s restaurant where Rayshard Brooks was shot and killed by police, is being held.

According to WSBTV, there were at least 50–100 people on Tuesday night going into Wednesday morning.

The protesters were seen chanting, banging pots and pans, honking signs, and holding Black Lives Matter signs. They also had projectors in place with the words “Dismantle white supremacy” and “Shut it down.”

The protesters told the WSBTV reporter that they didn’t;t believe White should have been arrested considering the circumstances. They plan on standing the ground and protesting until White is released.

White appeared before a judge on Wednesday. The judge set bond at $10,000 and ordered White to remain under house arrest, however, her lawyer argued that she did not have the money,

Drew Findling said, “They just don’t have the funds to make any bond.” When asked about his client’s link to Brooks he admitted that White knew him but did not comment on the nature of their relationship.
