Prince William reportedly approves his stepmother, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, to be titled “Queen consort” when his father takes the throne.

As previously reported, Queen Elizabeth II announced that Camilla will earn the title of “Queen consort” once Prince Charles is crowned king. A royal source said Prince Willliam is “happy” with his grandmother’s decision and added that he was well aware of the news before it was announced to the public.

According to the Mirror, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles got married in 2005, officials confirmed that she would not take the title of Princess of Wales. The decision was made out of respect for the late Princess Diana.

Harpers Bazaar also reported that Camilla’s coronation crown has already been picked out and she will stand by Charles at the first double coronation ceremony since 1937.

The Queen’s decision had a negative backlash on social media due to the history between Prince Charles and Camilla.
