Prince Andrew and Accuser Virginia Giuffre Settle Sex Abuse Lawsuit

Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre have reached an out-of-court settlement in the sexual abuse lawsuit against him, CNN reports.

The news comes as Giuffre’s lawyer sent a letter to federal Judge Lewis Kaplan about dismissing the case. The amount of the settlement has also not been disclosed to the public.

“Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights. Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks,” the letter reads.
Andrew was accused of bing a co-conspirator to Jeffrey Epstein. As we reported, the disgraced Prince Andrew stepped back from public duties in 2019, after a BBC interview blasted his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre claimed that Andrew forced her to have sex with him on three separate accusations between 1999 and 2002.

“It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years,” the letter added. “Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others. He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims.”
