Charlie Kirk’s Fatal Shooting Shakes The Nation

As we previously shared, Kirk was fatally shot in the neck on September 10. The incident occurred 20 minutes into the political pundit’s talk at Utah Valley University. The 31-year-old Conservative activist, also known as “The Trump Whisperer,” was seated on stage to kick-off his company Turning Point’s “American Comeback Tour.”

While answering an audience member’s question about gun violence and black crime, gunfire erupted. A bullet struck the left side of his neck. The crowd at Utah Valley University was left in shock as first responders rushed in to help. He was later pronounced dead. He leaves behind his wife Erika Kirk, and their two children, ages 1 and 3.

Kirk’s influence in conservative spaces had made him a frequent target of both support and criticism — and his death only notably exacerbated all of that. Kirk’s killing has not only raised questions about political violence, but also security at public events and the dangers of rhetoric in America.

Kirk, often deemed controversial, had his fair share of critics as he did supporters. Many conservatives have viewed Kirk’s murder as a direct attack on freedom of speech. Meanwhile, others see his death as another sign of how divided America has become. The division is become wider and President Donald Trump has since addressed it.

Donald Trump Slams Joe Biden & ‘Radicals On Left’ Amid Peak Political Divide In Nation After Charlie Kirk Fatal Shooting

On September 12, Donald Trump appeared on ‘Fox & Friends.’ During the sit-down, the President spoke on Charlie Kirk’s death. Trump, 79, also used the tragedy to point fingers at “radicals on the left,” describing them as “vicious” and “horrible.” He further claimed that he has no intentions on fixing the political divide in the wake of Kirk’s death.

Fox & Friends‘ co-host Ainsley Earhardt asked Trump his thoughts on how to “fix this country” and “come back together” amid peak political tensions and some people cheering after Charlie Kirk’s death. Trump opted to point fingers at “the radicals on the left.” He said:

“I’ll tell you something that’s going to get me in trouble, but I couldn’t care less. The radicals on the right, often times, are radical because they don’t want to see crime. [Regarding the border,] They’re saying, ‘We don’t want people coming in. We don’t want you burning our shopping centers, shooting our people in the street.’

The radicals on the left are the problem. And they’re vicious and they’re horrible and they’re politically savvy. Although they want men in women’s sports, they want transgender for everyone, they want open borders… The worst thing that happened to this country—because I’ve already solved inflation, costs are down. Look at energy costs. You’re gonna $2 gasoline pretty soon. I’ve solved just about every problem.

The worst thing that happened to our country is when we let 25 million people in—many of which, and I say 80 percent—should not be in our country. They emptied their prisons into our country. They emptied their mental institutions and insane asylums—that is a mental institution on steroids—they emptied their crazy people into our country by the millions and it’s the hardest thing. Even though we have a border now that’s totally secure, nobody came in Think about that, nobody. We used to have millions of people come in. Nobody came in and we back up border with the military. We’ve done a great job.

But, the the worst thing that happened to our country is to allow millions of people in from jails, mental institutions, drug dealers—they threw them all into our country. And these stupid people—some of them are stupid in terms of common sense, but they’re brilliant in other ways. [Joe] Biden wasn’t calling the shots. It was the radical left geniuses that surrounded him.

Unfortunately, he used the resolute desk. That’s the one I used. I hate it that he used it, but he used it. But they called the shots and he didn’t do anything. Look at what happened. The autopen signed everything. He wasn’t aware of anything that was being signed. It’s so illegal what they did…. What he did to this country will live in infamy. I say what he and his people—because he was sleeping most of the time. He should not have been president.”
