The news site reports that a total of 324,000 condoms were seized by police from a warehouse in Binh Duong, Vietnam, which were being recycled to be sold again. It was said that paid workers were tasked with cleaning the rubber contraceptives before reshaping them with wooden dildos. Apparently, some have already been resold to the public.
Thankfully, police raided the warehouse on Saturday and seized the used prophylactics. The owner of the warehouse, Pham Thi Thanh Ngoc, 33, was arrested and claimed she had been receiving the condoms once a month from an unknown person.. According the Daily Mail citing local news site VN Explorer, she allegedly cleaned, dried and organized the condoms before selling them again to the public as if they were brand new. Local reports stated that they were being supplied to hotels and market stalls near the warehouse.
“Condoms are classified as medical items, so we will take a look at the several laws that the owner has broken,” a government official said. After being confiscated as evidence they will be disposed of immediately because they are considered dangerous medical waste.
