The incident took place at the Philly Pregnancy Center where TikToker @goddess_jay_, also known as Jillian, came to the clinic to ask for a doctor’s note. After asking for the doctor’s note, the nurse practitioner starts asking Jillian questions about her pregnancy and accuses her of falsifying documents about her prenatal care.

She says to Jillian, “what were you thinking about when you got pregnant? That you wasn’t going to work?” Jillian explains to her that she doesn’t know how she feels due to the pain she’s experiencing and the nurse practitioner claimed she knows her pain threshold because she examined her cervix. Jillian is currently seven months pregnant and she said in a follow up video that the practitioner was very aggressive during the examination. During the discussion, the nurse practitioner starts hitting Jillian with a laptop case after she reveals her face to the camera.

The nurse practitioner also threatened to call the police when Jillian recorded her face. After the video went viral on TikTok, the clinic claimed Jillian was an “upset patient” and didn’t have any documents station she needed to be absent work.
“Respect your comment very much. Thank You. IN this clip, please note that the NP tried to have a conversation with a terribly upset patient. The NP examined the patient and to her professional opinion she thought that medically there is NO indication for the patient to be excused completely from work. Right or wrong, this is a different discussion. Do you think that health care providers are not entitled to a professional opinion even though it may be against the wish of the patient? This is a tough question. Please listen to the conversation.”

Other Twitter users in the medical field called the nurse practitioner’s behavior unacceptable and said action needs to be taken by the clinic.
Not just a nurse, but a nurse practitioner. As a nurse myself, I understand how we can easily to get our breaking point and how often we receive abuse in the workplace. However, this is never acceptable behaviour in any place of employment.

Wow. It’s not an isolated event. Some of them seem to think that Black women don’t feel pain. It has to be fraud or something if you complain.
