Weeks after Johnny Depp announced that he was resigning from his role on ‘Fantastic Beasts’ after a judge found that he allegedly abused ex-wife Amber Heard, news started circulating that she would be reprising her role in ‘Aquaman 2.’ Depp’s fans caught wind of the latest update and created a petition on Change.org to totally remove Heard from the movie or recast the role along with accusing her of ruining Depp’s career.
The petition says, “As Amber Heard is a known and proven domestic abuser, Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment should and must remove Heard from their Aquaman 2 film project. They must not ignore the suffering of Heard’s victims, and must not glamorize a domestic abuser. Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognized, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry.”

As reported by the New York Post, the petition has also accused Heard of falsifying accounts of Depp being abusive and she says she intends on continuing to work on the despite the outrage from Depp’s fans.
“Paid rumors and paid campaigns on social media don’t dictate [casting decisions] because they have no basis in reality. Only the fans actually made ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Aquaman 2’ happen. I’m excited to get started next year.”
