Peter Robbins, Voice Of Charlie Brown Dies By Suicide At 65

Peter Robbins, the original voice actor of Charlie Brown in the 1960s “Peanuts” shows, had died.

Relatives told Fox 5, San Diego, that Robbins was found dead last week and had committed suicide. He was 65-years-old.

Robbins, who was a California native and also provided the voice of the title character in 1965’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and 1966’s “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown; battled lifelong mental illness. According to the New York Post, he also struggled with addiction and had several run-ins with the law as an adult. The Independent noted that he also suffered from bipolar disorder.

The Robbins family has asked his fans for privacy. They said they will hold a memorial service sometime in the future, without revealing the date.
