By now, you all have probably seen Jenner rocking the unique look at a Schiaparelli couture show — which featured imitation animal heads.

While fur has long been known to cause an uproar among fashion critics and animal rights activists, the latest week in couture has had an opposite effect.

After Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry sent supermodels down the runway decked out with faux taxidermy, whose designs were inspired by the three beasts in Dante Alighieri’s “Inferno,” animal-protection nonprofit PETA has since applauded the craftsmanship of the dresses.

To note, Schiaparelli has loudly disclaimed that, “NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED IN MAKING THESE LOOKS.”

Now, PETA, who is known for throwing paint at celebrities in fur, has released a statement via its President, Ingrid Newkirk.

In part it read, “These fabulously innovative three-dimensional animal heads show that where there’s a will, there’s a way—and Kylie, Naomi and Irina’s looks celebrate the beauty of wild animals and may be a statement against trophy hunting.”

Fashion journalist Suzy Menkes also admired the collection and said, “I don’t believe that there was anything deliberately violent or angry in the show.”

Elsewhere, Brooklyn-based founder of Gotham Taxidermy, Divya Anantharaman, said despite the history of big-game taxidermy being “extremely problematic,” animal replicas “are cool because you can get the beauty of that lion or tiger—these gorgeous, charismatic megafauna—using these faux materials.”
