Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested on charges of aggravated sexual battery.

The 22-year-old was booked into Johnson County (Kansas) Detention Center on a $100,000 bond at 8:42 a.m. ET this, online records show. He has been charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery along with an additional fourth count of battery. Mahomes is scheduled for a court appearance later today.

The arrest stems from a woman’s accusation that Mahomes assaulted her in February. As we previously reported, surveillance obtained by TMZ showed the moment Mahomes forcibly kissed a woman while his hands are grasping her neck. The 40-year-old woman, who is the owner of Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, accused Mahomes of shoving a member of the restaurant’s waitstaff in a separate incident.

“He forcibly kissed me out of nowhere,” The owner of the restaurant, Aspen Vaughn, told the Kansas City Star said, “and I’m telling him, pushing him off saying, ‘What are you doing?’ and then he proceeded to do it two more times, where the last time I was pushing him off, and I can see on the cameras that somebody was outside the office door, and I was yelling for them to come help, because he’s big and massive.”

Despite being on camera, Mahomes’ attorney, Brandon Davies, denied the woman’s accusations in a statement to KCTV5 in March.

“We have provided law enforcement with the tools and evidence they need to evaluate the claims against Jackson,” Davies said in the statement. “Every interaction between people needs to be placed in the proper context. Releasing a short clip of any video does not provide proper context. We have faith in the process and look forward to a swift resolution of the matter.”

Brittany Mahomes, his sister-in-law, even came to Jackson’s defense back in April.

“They are ignorant,” she said of the people who criticize Jackson. “He is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say s— about him.” She continued, “So it’s best to just shut up.”

Judge Thomas Sutherland has prohibited Mahomes and his legal team from addressing the charges publicly. “The Court has prohibited the defendant and lawyers from commenting on the matter,” attorney Brandon Davies said.

Authorities requested a $100,000 bond in this case and Mahomes was able to do so Wednesday afternoon. He was eventually released following his first court appearance.

Jackson Mahomes returned to social media last month. He has a large social media following and frequently attends Chiefs games. He also celebrated the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory earlier this year with his brother at the championship parade in Kansas City.
