Dang! After running herself over with her own car, and sustaining several serious injuries, a 61-year-old New Jersey woman got ticketed by police.

New Jersey Woman Gets Ticketed By Police After Running Herself Over With Her Own Car And Sustaining Serious Injuries
It is reported that on Monday (May 1), the older woman, from Hackettstown, New Jersey, had exited her 2014 Lincoln, then she quickly realized that the vehicle was not in park.
As the woman tried to stop the vehicle from rolling into the intersection of Helms Mill Road and Dalton Road, she fell out of the car, which then rolled over her left side, as it continued onto Helms Mill Road. The car then ended up striking a parked 2016 Ford.

According to officials with the Hackettstown Police Department, they responded to the area of the accident around 7:28 p.m., after receiving a call about a pedestrian being struck by a car.
Upon their arrival and initial investigation, police learned that the pedestrian had run herself over with her own vehicle that was not properly put in park.
The woman ended up suffering serious injuries, that were also listed as non-life-threatening. She was taken to a nearby hospital, listed as Independence Township First Aid Squad to Morristown Medical Center. Following the whole tragedy, she was then issued a summons for having an unregistered vehicle.
On Tuesday (May 2), the Hackettstown Police Department issued a press release to its official Facebook account pertaining to the wild incident of the older woman who ran herself over with her own car.
The post, in its entirety, read, “Press Release (5/2/23): Motor Vehicle Crash. On Monday, May 1, 2023, at 7:28 p.m., the Hackettstown police responded to the intersection of Helms Mill Road and Dalton Road for a report of a struck pedestrian.”

The post continued, “Through an investigation, it was determined that a 61-year-old female of Hackettstown, NJ was getting out her 2014 Lincoln when she didn’t realize her vehicle was not in park. As she attempted to stop the vehicle from rolling, she fell out of the vehicle and the vehicle rolled over the left side of her body. The vehicle continued to roll and then struck a 2016 Ford which was parked alongside Helms Mill Road.”
Concluding their post, the Hackettstown Police Department added, “The female suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by Independence Township First Aid Squad to Morristown Medical Center. She was issued a summons for having an unregistered vehicle. Saint Clare’s Paramedics assisted at the scene.”
