Over $165K Donated To Ohio Mom Arrested For Leaving Children In Motel Room To Work
Shaina Bell, a 24-year-old Liberty Township, Ohio mom who was arrested recently for leaving her children in a motel room as she went to work, has received over $165,000 from generous GoFundMe donors. The goal was $5,000.
Of those who donated, are Cleveland Cavalier Javale Mcgee, who donated $5,000, and Quality Control founder Pierre “Pee” Thomas, who donated $10,000. Pee writes, “My mom used to have to do the same thing when we were young, not cause of abandonment issues, it’s because people can’t afford child care working at a pizza shop. She wasn’t hanging out at a club. She was at work.”

Shaina Bell’s mother, Danielle Hosey, says her daughter was taken back over the unexpected support and initially asked for the campaigns to be taken down. With the generous donations, Hosey says her daughter is focusing on her children and finding housing. As for her updates in court, Bell, who was charged with endangering her 9-year-old and 2-year-old, has pleaded not guilty and is out on bond, with her next date sept in April.
