The shocking murder of Christian Obumseli at the hands of his girlfriend Courtney Clenney, who is an influencer and OnlyFans model, sent shockwaves through social media, and with Clenney being the prime suspect, many are questioning why she is still free.
Friends who were close to the couple are speaking out against Clenney, who has claimed self-defense in the case, and they say she was a repeat abuser in the relationship.
As we reported, Christian Toby Obumseli was reportedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend Courtney Tailor Clenney, who boasts 2 million Instagram followers. Police are calling the incident a domestic dispute and Tailor was initially being held for a mental evaluation. She was pictured covered in his blood at the highrise after she allegedly stabbed him in the chest.
In a report by Rolling Stone, friends of the couple reveal that Clenney was reportedly abusive on numerous occasions, and has a history of being violent towards her exes. She also allegedly has a substance abuse problem and has two previous DUIs for being drunk.
“The reality is we did see a lot of domestic violence, and it was on her end,” claimed one friend.
Tailor, whose real name is Courtney Clenney, is being represented by frank Prieto, and he vehemently claims that his client is a domestic violence survivor and that she had “no choice” but to defend herself against her boyfriend, who had no weapons and she had no self-defense wounds.
The anonymous friend provided a glimpse into the toxic relationship.
The couple started dating back in 2020 going into 2021, and apparently, Courtney would argue with Christian on multiple occasions while they were in a group setting.
“She would disappear while we’re all at dinner or out, and she would text Christian to go meet her,” the friend said. “And we’d go looking for them, and we’d see them arguing, and she’d be sitting there screaming at the top of her lungs. She was always pulling him away to fight about something.”
Another acquaintance describes how Clenney got aggressive while on a trip to palm springs, and that she got jealous and accused Obumseli of looking at other women.
“I could see them arguing out of the corner of my eye,” she said. “She was kind of pushing him out of the room. She would be like, ‘Hey, you just looked at her. And then she would start pushing him around.”
Clenney’s lawyer is adamant that his lawyer acted in self-defense. She was later spotted at the bar following the murder.

Charge #CourtneyTailor with murder. Threatening to unalive herself should not change that.
