Ohio mom charged for murdering her 6-year-old son and dumping body in river

An Ohio mom is being charged with the murder of her son. According to YahooNews, she was attempting to abandon him and when the boy tried to get back in the car the mom ran over her son. She pleaded guilty Monday to murder and two counts of child endangerment.

Brittany Gosney, 29, of Middletown, Ohio, is currently facing up to life in prison when she is sentenced on September 13.

Gosney’s 43-year-old boyfriend, James Hamilton is also being charged with abuse of a body, evidence tampering, and child endangerment. Hamilton is pleading not guilty to all charges.

The mother is saying she was put under pressure by the boyfriend to get rid of her 6-year-old son James Hutchinson and his two siblings both ages 9 and 7. In late February, Gosney drove the three children to a nearby park where she planned to abandon them. There is still no indication if she initially planned on killing them.

According to authorized, Hutchinson died while attempting to grab for the door of the vehicle and was dragged by the car.

Middletown police have reported that her other two children were in the car during the incident. As of right now, those two children have been placed in foster care.

Gosney and Hamilton dumped James’ body into the Ohio River near Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on Feb. 28, authorities said. Flood conditions initially prevented a search effort there, and the boy’s body has not been recovered despite multiple searches.
