Oh Snap! Ex-‘RHONY’ Star Leah McSweeney Sues Andy Cohen and Bravo for Discrimination — Accuses Talk Show Host Of Using Cocaine With Bravo Stars + More

Andy Cohen’s name has been dragged through the headlines in recent weeks and it has popped back up once again now that he’s being sued.

Former Real Housewives of New York star Leah McSweeney recently made some shocking allegations in a bombshell federal lawsuit filed against Bravo and its key figures, including talk show host Andy Cohen. The lawsuit, obtained by Deadline and RadarOnline.com, names Cohen, Warner Bros Discovery, Shed Media, Bravo Media, NBC Universal, and several producers as defendants.

In the 109-page complaint, McSweeney alleges a toxic work environment at Bravo, where employees were pressured to consume alcohol and her disabilities, including “alcohol use disorder” and “mental health disorders,” were not accommodated. Despite disclosing her struggles and maintaining sobriety during filming for season 12 in 2019, McSweeney claims producers intentionally exacerbated her disabilities to create sensational reality television.

The lawsuit takes a shocking turn as McSweeney accuses Cohen of engaging in cocaine use with Housewives and other ‘Bravolebrities,’ alleging a culture of drug and alcohol abuse within the workplace. She claims that Cohen’s alleged cocaine use influences his treatment and editing decisions, leading to favoritism and discrimination against employees trying to remain substance-free. “Cohen tends to provide the Housewives with whom he uses cocaine with more favorable treatment and edits,” she claimed in the suit. “Cohen intentionally uses cocaine with his employees to further promote a workplace culture that thrives off drug and alcohol abuse, which leads to a failure to accommodate employees who are disabled and attempting to remain substance-free. “Cohen’s preferred workplace environment, which is fueled with substances and illicit behavior, permeates every aspect of Defendant Bravo productions,” she continued.

Ms. McSweeney’s suit demanded unspecified damages and the suit states how she’s ready to take the case head-on:

“Where there is smoke, there is fire. Defendants discriminated against, tormented, demoralized, demeaned, harassed, and retaliated against Ms. McSweeney because she is a woman with disabilities, such as alcohol use disorder and various mental health disorders, all in the name of selling drama. But being in the business of reality television does not relieve Defendants of their obligation to follow employment laws that prohibit the exact type of discrimination, hostile work environment, and retaliation that Defendants subjected Ms. McSweeney to. Now, Ms. McSweeney seeks justice.”

A representative for Andy Cohen has vehemently denied the allegations, stating that “the claims against Andy are completely false,” as reported by Deadline. The lawsuit has sparked a wave of controversy and speculation within the entertainment industry, raising questions about workplace culture, discrimination, and substance abuse in reality television.

As the legal battle unfolds in the Southern District of New York, all eyes are on McSweeney’s lawsuit and the response from Bravo and Andy Cohen. The outcome of this high-profile case could have far-reaching implications for the reality TV industry and the treatment of employees behind the scenes.
