Off-Duty NYPD Cop Arrested For Stealing Duffle Bag Containing Marijuana

An off-duty NYPD transit cop was arrested after he allegedly robbed a man of his jewelry and a duffle bag full of marijuana.

According to the New York Post, Michael Latimer,31, and his accomplice entered the man’s apartment building in the Allerton section of the Bronx around 3:50 p.m. Thursday. Police say Latimer and the other suspect wore ski masks and bulletproof vests during the robbery. The two men robbed the victim at gunpoint and snatched his watch along with a duffle bag containing marijuana before fleeing the scene.

A witness contacted NYPD after spotting Latimer and his partner putting on the ski masks prior to the robbery. The pair was shortly arrested after officers surveyed the neighborhood.

Latimer worked as an NYPD transit cop for only two years and apparently used his on-duty weapon to threaten the victim during the robbery. Officers also found guns and drugs in his vehicle before the arrest.

His charges are currently pending as of Thursday night per the New York Daily News
