The performance took place at the Taoyuan Veterans Home during a celebration for the Mid-Autumn Festival, as the New York Post reported. An attendee recorded the incident where the woman was given a raunchy performance in front of the men in wheelchairs. Another video portion showed the stripper giving a lapdance to one of the men. The 35-second video clip posted on Facebook by a user named Shakira Isabel quickly went viral and caused a backlash.

In response to the backlash, Taoyuan Veterans Home released a statement and apologized to the public for hiring the stripper.

Administrators said they hired the stripper for an event arranged for residents with “mobility issues” and canceled any future performances with the adult entertainment company.

“The intention of the event was to entertain residents and make them happy. We are very sorry for the offense that was caused.”

Despite the backlash, many people supported the nursing home, providing entertainment for the men.

Other commentators stated that the nursing home didn’t need to apologize for hiring the stripper.

“Well, I know how to do it. Grandpa said it would have been better if he was open-minded. 畢竟The less things that age can open your heart”
