The drama surrounding the tragic death of teen Nolan Wells is reaching a boiling point. In a new interview on “The Officer Tatum Show,” YouTuber Brandon Tatum sat down with Nolan’s friends—Morgan Seymour, Warren Hudson, and Jax Pitalo—to address the intense public scrutiny they’ve faced since the tragedy.
During the conversation, Jax pointed a finger directly at Nolan’s mother, Christine Wonsley. According to Jax, the media storm that followed the death was created by the late teen’s mom.

Jax claimed that—aside from wishing “Nolan could still be here”—”his mom blasting us on social media from the get-go” triggered a huge media frenzy.
He went on to allege that Christine Wonsley is the reason their identities were made public, leading to the massive wave of online backlash they’ve been enduring. Jax explained that she fueled the fire when she shared a photo of her son alongside him and Morgan, while allegedly name-dropping Warren.
In fact, he doesn’t believe the mystery surrounding Nolan’s death would have gone so viral if she hadn’t posted about the boys.
Jax also expressed his frustration with the coverage, feeling the story’s been “blown out of proportion” from all the media attention. He insisted that Nolan was their “brother,” telling Tatum he even said as much to his dad.
The weight of the situation is clearly heavy on the group. The friends admitted they deeply regret their trip to Horn Island on the Fourth of July, telling Tatum they believe Nolan would still be alive if they hadn’t.
As the investigation continues, the details remain heartbreaking. Nolan was last seen on the island that afternoon, and his friends maintain he didn’t return to the mainland on their boat. His body was discovered in the water days later, and while his family is currently conducting an independent investigation, there is still no official cause or manner of death.
