Nicki Minaj’s Husband Still Facing Federal Charges Despite Dismissal Of L.A Case

Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty may have lucked out when his charges were dropped for not registering as a sex offender in California but he is still facing federal charges.

According to the Blast, Kenneth Petty appeared in court early Friday to plead not guilty as told in a report by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. His charges for not registering as a sex offender in the state of California were dropped but he still faces federal charges for the same offense.

We reported earlier this week that Petty was arrested in Beverly Hills after being pulled over by police for failing to follow his requirements as a sex offender. He was required to report when he moved out of New York and inform authorities of his address in California last year. Petty faces up to ten years in prison if convicted.

After his release on a $100,000 bond, Petty was ordered to wear an ankle bracelet and cannot smoke marijuana for recreational purposes. He also surrendered his passport upon his arrest.

In 1995, He registered as a sex offender in New York for first-degree attempted rape and served four years in prison.
