The latest update in the legal battle between Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty and his alleged rape victim Jennifer Hough finds Petty pushing for a dismissal of her lawsuit accusing him of pressuring her to recant.
According to TMZ, Petty just submitted an alleged letter from 1994. He claims Hough wrote it to the District Attorney, asking for the rape charge to be dropped because her allegations were “half true, half false.”
To note, Petty as convicted of first-degree attempted rape in April 1995 over the alleged incident. She accused him of raping her when they were 16. In 2021, Hough sued Petty, accusing him of pressuring her to recant.
Now, in response to Petty’s latest claims, Hough’s lawyer, Marjorie Mesidor, is denying her client ever wrote the note to recant her story against Petty. In the alleged letter, it reads:
“On the day that I said I was rape it is half true and half false. The marks on my neck was not from me being choke. They were hickies that I got the day before from someone else. I been knowing Kenneth for many years.”

In the alleged letter, Hough admitted to hanging with Petty and said they ended up getting into a fight. The letter reads:
“He asked to make love with me again. I said no, so we started arguing again. Then he told me if I would have sex with him, I can leave. So I did, because I was already late for school, and I just wanted to leave.”
Hough alleged said she left Petty’s home, angry about what happened. She allegedly told a friend about the fight and the friend told her to report Petty for rape because she didn’t want to have sex a second time. The letter reads:
“Everybody in school took it out of proportion, saying this and saying that. Next thing I knew cops was there. … I am really sorry about everything I hope Kenneth and his family will forgive me for all the trouble I caused him and his family. Maybe we could put this all behind us and continue the friendship we once had.”
In Petty’s filing, he said Hough previously told a friend that a third person was in the room for the alleged rape, but she later changed her story. Hough’s attorney, Mesidor, told TMZ:
“This exact tactic was attempted by Mr. Petty in 1994, and it was widely disregarded by the judge then just as it will be disregarded by the judge now. The concept of a 16-year-old minor producing a typewritten recantation without parental consent is highly suspicious on its face — and this is simply not her signature.”
