NFL Star Jonathan Allen Apologizes After Claiming He’d Dine With ‘Military Genius’ Adolf Hitler

Q&A series can sometimes be hit or miss with celebrities. In the case of NFL star Jonathan Allen, things went left quick; this as he apologizes to fans after claiming he’d dine with Adolf Hitler, further calling him a “military genius.”

In a Q&A series he held on Twitter earlier today, Allen, who is the Defensive Tackle for the Washington Commanders, was asked, “If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive; who are you inviting?” Allen said, “My grandad, Hitler and Michael Jackson.” As for why Hitler, he quipped, “He’s a military genius and I love military tactics, but honestly I would want to pick his brain as to why he did what he did. I’m also assuming that the people I’ve chosen have to answer all my questions honestly.”

He’s comments clearly did not go over well on social media and was subsequently called out, forcing him to issue an apology. Allen said, “Earlier I tweeted something that probably hurt people and I apologize about what I said. I didn’t express properly what I was trying to say and I realize it was dumb!” While some people called his original comments dark humor, others responded to his apology with words of disappointment and pain. #Socialites, thoughts?
