New Amazon CEO Gets Paid $212M After Replacing Jeff Bezos

Where do we apply?

According to a filing, new Amazon CEO Andy Jassy is getting a huge paycheck for his first year on the job.

Jassy replaced Bezos as CEO last July and he will get paid $212 million for 2021 alone! We wonder what his 2022 paycheck looks like!

While Jeff Bezos remains executive chairman of the company, Jassy is the CEO. His base compensation came from a restricted stock unit of 61,000 shares of Amazon stock.

Amazon said the award, which will vest from 2023 to 2031, is “intended to represent most of Mr. Jassy’s compensation for the coming years.”

“Faced with the first CEO succession in the Company’s history, the Leadership Development and Compensation Committee determined it important to provide for clarity and stability through an award that is designed to establish a long-term owner’s perspective and encourage bold, long-term initiatives, in the same manner that Mr. Bezos’s shares as founder incentivized him to focus on long-term, expansive growth,” said the filing.

It doesn’t end there ,Jassy was also given about $600,000 in additional compensation, which Amazon said is for company travel and security. Is Amazon Fresh hiring?
