As previously reported, the artist, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, was arrested April 16, 2026, by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection with the killing of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. By Monday, prosecutors officially hit him with several serious charges, including murder, lewd and lascivious sexual acts with a person under 14 years old, and mutilation of a human body.

Investigators allege Burke used a sharp instrument during the attack, and Celeste ultimately died from “multiple penetrating injuries” after her body was discovered on September 8, 2025. Authorities say her remains were found inside a Tesla registered to Burke at a tow yard in Los Angeles.
But during a court hearing Thursday, prosecutors revealed even more alarming claims, According TMZ, Burke appeared in court exactly one year from the day prosecutors believe Celeste was murdered, attending a status hearing ahead of his preliminary hearing. It was during that hearing that prosecutors stated they had searched his iPhone and uncovered what they described as a “significant amount” of child p*rn. At this time, it remains unclear whether any of the alleged material involved Celeste.
Earlier this week, Burke entered a not guilty plea, signaling that he plans to fight the charges against him. His defense team has also challenged prosecutors to present their full case sooner rather than later, pushing for an immediate preliminary hearing.
Prosecutors also allege Burke had been engaged in sexual relations with Celeste while she was under the age of 14. They claim that when the teen threatened to expose him, something they believe could have devastated his music career, he invited her to his Hollywood Hills home on April 23, 2025, where they allege the killing took place.
Authorities went on to claim that after Celeste’s death, Burke cut up her body, placed the remains into two bags, and kept them stored in the trunk of his vehicle for more than four months while the body decomposed.
A judge has now scheduled that preliminary hearing for May 1. During Thursday’s appearance, prosecutors told the court they expect to be ready for the upcoming hearing and indicated they hope to move the case to trial within 60 days.
