While there are tons of apps on the Google and iPhone marketplaces allowing users to have mobile Bibles and read scriptures on the go, technology has continued to make room for more creativity and convenience with a new app to hit digital marketplaces.
As AI (artificial intelligence) also continues to make its way into our daily lives, some programmers and developers have decided to use chatbots and AI to allow people to not only read their bibles on the go, but to also speak with AI Jesus and AI Satan.
We’ve already seen AI try to takeover the TV and film industry, as well as the music industry, and now biblical figures are being replicated for AI purposes. Via the app “Text With Jesus,” users a just one tap away from holding a conversation with the man above and/or the fallen angel below.
It’s reported that the app launched in July via Catload Software, and according to the app’s developers the program is for “devoted Christians seeking a deeper connection with the Bible’s most iconic figures.”

The app reportedly uses ChatGPT’s AI technology to allow users to interact with chatbots that represent biblical characters and receive instant messages back, referencing bible studies and verses. Some of those biblical figures include: Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and even the devil himself, Satan. The app is free to chat with the first three characters, but if users want to text with Satan, they have to pay $2.99 a month.
Since the AI application released to the public, it has since gone viral, with thousands of people downloading the app and checking it out, and then sharing their opinions on social media. Naturally, the reactions online are proving to be extremely divided and stirring up controversy. On the Apple App Store, most of the reviews for the program are positive, with a 4.6 score out of 5.

One review says, “I know I’m not actually texting Jesus or Mary or anyone like that but if I were, I think this would be how it would feel.”
Meanwhile on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, people have called the app “blasphemous.” One person wrote, “This is complete TRASH. Go read your Bible, people!”
