Artificial Intelligence (AI) seems to slowly be transforming the music industry while also causing some issues for artists.

In recent times we’ve seen people use AI to replicate existing songs and even steal copyrights. While AI can be beneficial in other ways, some folks on the Internet have been abusing the software, leading to unfair practices and skewed results.

Singer JoJo was recently stopped by TMZ reporter Seleah Simone and was asked her thoughts on robots trying to take over the music space. Being a strong voice in the industry for over a decade, JoJo shared how she would feel if she heard an AI-generated track using her vocals.

“I don’t know I think it’s really interesting. I think we can use it for harmonies and backgrounds,” Jojo said before adding, “I think we should learn how to work with it and not against it. Like what are we going to do? we can’t stop what’s happening in a sense with artificial intelligence. I think we should find a way to embrace it.”

“I just feel like I’m trying not to resist the way things are going and I think we should just find a way to embrace it,” she reiterated.

Just last month, AI-generated tracks hit the internet with the voices of big stars like Rihanna, Beyoncé, Ariana Grande and even Drake. The rapper came across his vocals over Ice Spice’s hit song “Munch” and didn’t seem to be here for it. He said, “This is the final straw AI.”

More On The Pros And Cons Of AI

Although Artificial Intelligence has the potential to revolutionize the way we live and work, many public figures have stressed how great power comes with great responsibility.

One downside to it is privacy and security risks to job displacement and economic inequality. To note, AI technology has been around for some time now. However, despite this, there are still a lot of people who are against the use of AI in everyday life. This could be due to the fear of AI taking over human jobs or the lack of understanding about how AI works.

Meanwhile, some are aware of the great dangers it can cause if used recklessly. Last month, President Biden called on AI developers to have the responsibility to ensure products are safe before releasing them to the public.

However, Biden did note that AI could help tackle challenges like disease and climate change but that developers of the technology would also have to address “potential risks to our society, to our economy, to our national security”.
