NBA commissioner, Adam Silver who had a personal conversation with Ja Morant after his first gun flashing incident recently spoke on ESPN and expressed how he was “honestly shocked” after seeing the viral video.
While reflecting on the first conversation they had he said, “We talked directly about the consequences.” He said. “We were very focused on the misconduct that was in front of us at the time and frankly most of our conversation was about how incredibly serious the first incident was of waving a fire arm on social media. An 8 game suspension was pretty serious and at least to me he seemed to take incredibly serious at that time and we spoke for a long time.”
Following their first interview, Silver said he left feeling like he took the first incident incredibly serious. “Honestly I was shocked when I saw this weekend that video, now we’re in process of investigating and we’ll figure out exactly what happened to the best we can. I’m assuming the worst, but we’ll figure out exactly what happened there.”
“Honestly, I was shocked when I saw this weekend — that video. Now, we’re in the process of investigating it.”

As we previously reported, celebrities have been tearing Morant down after making the decision to flash another gun on social media.
Shannon Sharpe even gave his 2 cents on Undisputed today saying, “I’m mad, I’m upset, I’m disgusted by the people that defended (Morant),” he said.
“Because that’s what got us here. All of the people that said let Ja be Ja, are y’all gonna be the treasurer of that GoFundMe account, because he just lost $39 million because he wasn’t on one of the three All-NBA teams. Sharpe believes Morant could very well end up losing his NBA contract and many of his endorsement deals for making the same mistake after just recently coming off his suspension for a similar incident where he flashed a gun. “He’s about to lose another $20-$30 million of these endorsements.”
Fat Joe even made a video that made rounds on social media. The rapper even took it as far as saying he’s trying to kick out of the NBA.
“He’s trying hard to get kicked out the NBA,” Joey Crack said. “Those guys that’s with you, they not your peoples, Ja. They don’t care. This is a problem we have with our community becoming famous.”
He continued, “Because the people around you, they like that the girls is watching, they love the lifestyle, but they’re not you. They didn’t dribble the basketball in the snow on Christmas trying to figure out the Kobe moves, or the Jordan moves. They didn’t put in the work like you.”
