An Ohio mother of two woke up out of a coma seven months after doctors declared she was “brain dead” and told her family to pull the plug.

According to the Daily Mail, Kertisa Brabson,31, fell into a coma after she suffered from a seizure in September 2018. Before experiencing the symptoms, Brabson started speaking incoherently, reached for objects that didn’t exist and danced at random moments during an observation at a local hospital in Alliance.

Her mother, Kertease Williams, was told by doctors that she was ‘brain-dead’ and needed to pull the plug since they couldn’t treat her condition after she was diagnosed with Anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis. However, Williams searched for more options in order to save her daughter’s life.

‘We were going to keep moving her because once I saw the doctors scratching their heads that clearly let me know they gave up and they don’t know what’s going on with her. ‘

‘Every decision that I made was because she got two little people that was depending on their mother to come home and that was her kids.’

She was moved to Ohio State Hospital where she had almost 20 seizures a day. Dr. Shradda Mainali said Brabson had a ’60 perfect mortality’ based on her condition and that her team worked to make sure the medication would decrease her chances of death.

Babson woke up in April last year and responded to doctors and treatment positively. She doesn’t remember sleeping for seven months.

‘A doctor said well, she’s woke up. Oh, my goodness, we just jumped up and down and screamed and nobody slept that morning.’
