A nine-year-old girl from Florida was viciously attacked by two boys on a school bus on Wednesday after an argument had allegedly erupted, and her mother is said to be pressing criminal charges against her attackers after video footage of the disturbing beatdown went viral on Twitter.

In the clip posted online, two boys can be seen putting their hands on the small girl while she desperately tries to fend them off by placing her hands over her head. What’s more bizarre is that throughout the duration of the video, not once does an adult intervene and try to stop the fight as the older boy standing up continues to throw punches at the girl in a repeated manner.

The mother of the girl, who chose to remain anonymous, told Local 10 that her daughter as well as her two other children have only been at the school at Coconut Palm K-8 Academy since January and there have allegedly been countless of these violent incidents taking place. When she spoke to the principal and the counselor, she was told they’d been “overwhelmed” by the aggressive behavior of students but could only advise her to enroll her kids elsewhere.

All ages are on that bus and it’s overfilled,” the mom told the publication. “It’s very crazy because there’s all this yelling going on in the bus and the two adults on the bus – the bus (driver) and the bus aide, only sit in the front.”

One of the other moms whose child attends the school said she was deeply disturbed by what unfolded on the bus, stressing that parents need to do better at raising their kids as she denounced the incident on Wednesday.

“I’m very upset and disappointed in the response that children now take matters into their own hands with violence. This violence has got to stop. It’s starting from somewhere. Parents need to do more and pay more attention to their children that’s causing these violent acts.”

According to the mother of the young girl, her kids have been having issues at the school since they started and it’s become a habit at this point, with staff members — including the principal — failing to take action.

“We’ve had issues before with my son and the kids on the bus, and also in the cafeteria and at dismissal,” she continued.

“I already drew the line and I was also on phone with the district — I spoke with someone from the district — and the only thing they could advise me of was to continue to speak with the principal and pull up a bully report.”
