A family is currently grieving the loss of their loved one who was sadly found dead on the street of a residential neighborhood in Florida.
According to PEOPLE, Alana Sims’ body was discovered next to a car. Inside the vehicle was her 23-month-old son who was fast asleep. Alana was publicly identified by her family on Tuesday. They also revealed she was five months pregnant.
While speaking with the outlet, Shahlevi Sims told PEOPLE that her daughter “Alana was the best person you could be around. She wasn’t around drama.” She continued, “She stayed to herself you know just a real down-to-earth person,” Shahlevi says. “She loved being around her nieces, she loved her son and her family.” Shahlevi also told Fox13 that her daughter “was a lovable soul. I mean, she didn’t have to die young.” Shahlevi Sims added, “She shouldn’t have to die young. And everybody should know that, you know, your loved ones, you want to keep them close because you just don’t know.” On Tuesday, Tampa PD spokesperson Crystal Clark gave more details to 10 Tampa Bay and said that Sims’ death is believed to be a targeted attack. “I can tell you, when she was laying on the ground, it appeared she had been deceased for a bit of time,” she added.
As of right now, the case is currently under investigation by homicide detectives. As for her sweet baby boy who was in his car seat in the back of the vehicle when the police arrived, he was unharmed and is now being looked after by her family. The news site notes that the boy turns two next month.
“This is a complete tragedy,” explained Clark. “You have a child now who’s without a mother because someone took her life while the child was sitting right there in the car behind her as it happened.”
A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help offset the costs of Alana’s funeral and has exceeded their goal $4000 goal. Alana, 22, is described in the GoFundMe as “a devoted mother who has a son who she loved very much.”

More than likely her murderer is the POS that got her pregnant! He didn’t want the responsibility of raising his child, so he robbed her beloved son of his mama! Rest in peace sweet young lady and may God bless her beloved son!
@Linda Flowers I was thinking the same thing. Whomever it was is a coward! To take the life of this beautiful woman and her unborn child is very cowardly and uncalled for. I pray that justice comes swift for her family and son. That whomever did this senseless and cowardly act is brought to justice quickly.
