Authorities charged Sabrina M. Dunigan,34, with five counts of endangering the life of a child for the August deaths of her five children. On Aug. 6, Dunigan’s children, Loy-el Dunigan, 2; Jabari Johnson, 4; twins, Heaven and Neveah “Veah” Dunigan, aged 8; and Deontae Davis, 9; were killed in an apartment fire on the second floor while she was outside of the home and police alleged she left the children unattended.

According to Dunigan’s father, Greg, she stepped out around 3 a.m. to pick up her boyfriend from work and he was supposed to keep an eye on the children since the family of eight lived in a one-bedroom apartment. He added that he and his wife fell asleep but escaped from the home without the children when the fire started.
