Looks like Mo’Nique is not playing any games! The comedian shared a report to her Instagram account today announcing she’s suing CBS and Paramount over unpaid royalties from her hit show “The Parkers.”

The ‘Precious’ actress captioned the post saying, “Today we filed a lawsuit to make sure that we are fairly paid money that we are owed for The Parkers.” She wrote. “Actors rely on the good faith of Hollywood Companies to honor their profit participation agreements. The Parkers was a huge success and continues to be a source of revenue through syndication and streaming channels.”

She continued, “To further make my point the Executive Producers of The Parkers took legal action for the same concerns that I have, and they’ve already settled. Unfortunately, all too often, talent gets kept in the dark. We’re looking forward shedding some light on the subject! I LOVE US 4REAL!!”

The show was well-received by audiences and helped launch the careers of Mo’Nique and Countess Vaughn. It was also notable for its diverse cast and storylines that tackled issues such as sexuality, race, and class.

Overall, “The Parkers” was a popular and successful sitcom during its five-season run, and it continues to be enjoyed by audiences through reruns and streaming platforms.

As we previously reported, Mo’Nique has been doing some big things and still killing the game. The comedian just released a new Netflix special titled “My Name Is Mo’Nique.”

She had segment about how she was raised by strong Black women and how her grandmother urged her to never engage in oral sex. She also briefly recounts a time when she had to wear a strait jacket, her intolerance for bullies, and dealing with a white teacher that quickly made headlines.

But it is always good to see Mo’Nique back on the scene after she was accused of being difficult to work with. Mo’nique and Tyler Perry had a public disagreement in 2019 regarding the way Mo’nique was treated by Hollywood executives after her Oscar win for her role in the movie “Precious.” Monique claimed that she was blackballed by Hollywood executives after she refused to promote the movie at various events without additional compensation.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Monique accused Tyler Perry of being complicit in her blacklisting and not standing up for her when she was going through a difficult time. She claimed that Perry had offered her a low-paying job on one of his projects and asked her to work for free during a phone conversation. Monique also criticized Perry for working with people who she believes had a hand in her being blacklisted.

Tyler Perry responded to Mo’nique’s accusations by saying that he respects her talent and believes that she deserves more opportunities in Hollywood. However, he also expressed his belief that Mo’nique had not handled her negotiations in a professional manner and that her approach may have contributed to her difficulties in finding work. Perry also denied Mo’nique’s claim that he had offered her a low-paying job and asked her to work for free.

The feud between Mo’nique and Tyler Perry continues to be a topic of discussion among fans and industry insiders, and it remains unclear whether the two have resolved their differences. #Socialites  are we here for Mo’Nique going after her coins?
