Moneybagg Yo is once again proving his love for Memphis runs deeper than music.
The hometown rapper, born Demario White, pulled up to Invictus Academy on Friday and caught students completely off guard with a major surprise, a $20,000 check for Memphis-Shelby County Schools.
The donation is earmarked for the district’s Youth Advocacy Program, which focuses
on supporting teen parents as they juggle diapers, deadlines, and diplomas. It’s a cause that hits close to home for the Grammy-nominated artist, who has openly shared that he experienced parenthood at a young age himself.
Through the program, MSCS helps young parents stay on track by connecting them with critical resources, including free or priority access to local childcare options.
The goal is simple but powerful: make sure becoming a parent doesn’t mean giving up on education. With this latest move, Moneybagg Yo is turning personal experience into real impact, and investing directly in the next generation of Memphis.
Moneybagg Yo has built a reputation for consistently giving back to Memphis, not just with words but with real action and real money. Whether it’s pulling up to schools, helping families, or quietly supporting community programs, he regularly reinvests in the city that raised him.
