A California mom gave birth to fraternal twins who were born 15 minutes apart in 2021 and 2022.

Fatima Madrigal and Robert Trujillo welcomed their newborns on two separate dates, December 31, 2021, and January 1, 2022. According to PEOPLE, Alfredo Antonio was born at 11:45 pm on Friday, and his twin, Aylin Yolanda was born 15 minutes later. The Natividad Medical Center in Salinas called the rare occasion a “1 in 2 million chance” on their official Twitter page.
“At midnight, Natividad welcomed Aylin Yolanda Trujillo as the area’s first baby of 2022! Her twin, Alfredo Antonio Trujillo, was born 15 minutes earlier at 11:45 pm Friday, Dec. 31, meaning their birthday falls on a different day, month and year— a 1 in 2 million chance!”

Madrigal said she was surprised that her babies have different birthdays and were happy that her daughter was born at midnight.
“It’s crazy to me that they are twins and have different birthdays. I was surprised and happy that she arrived at midnight.”
