Snow College student Madelyn Allen,19, met 39-year-old Brent Neil Brown online in a chat group and made arrangements to meet each other on December 13. After meeting up, Brown allowed Allen to use her phone one time to text her family and tied her up after taking her belongings the day after. He told her if she attempted to escape or told anyone about him that he would go after her family. Allen’s family reported her missing after her dorm roommates said she didn’t return to the room a day after she met Brown.
Snow College Police wrote in an arrest affidavit that Brown answered the door after police tracked him down at his home in Loa using cellphone tower information and he told them he was home alone. However, Allen was found later in the basement, alive and naked while covered in coal.

“We don’t have a lot of information about him. We don’t know how extensive his relationship or her knowledge of him is thus far.”
