Missing Black Alabama State University Student Found Dead

Police have discovered the body of a missing Alabama State University student who was last seen on campus last week.

Per WVTM, police responded to a call of a dead body discovered at the 800 block of Hutchinson Street in Montgomery,

The body was identified as 22-year-old Adam Dowdell who was last seen Leaving his dorm to retrieve money from an ATM.

His mom, Toya Cohill had been searching for him for a week and had hope for better ending, “I’m not good,” Cohill said to AL.com onTuesday. “I’m not good at all.”

Cohill doesn’t know why her son was killed but is seeking justice. Her son’s body is currently undergoing an autopsy. Apparently, witnesses saw him leave with a friend.

ASU rep Ken Mullinax released a statement in regards to the death,

“The Alabama State University Police Department received notification on Wednesday of a male student who was possibly missing. The student is from the Alabaster, Alabama, area and has not been seen since Tuesday afternoon. ASUPD has opened an active, ongoing investigation with help from Central Alabama Crime Stoppers and assistance from surrounding law enforcement agencies.”
