Miss USA Cheslie Kryst Passes Away At 30 After Jumping From NYC Apartment

Cheslie Kryst, also known as Miss USA 2019, has died at the age of 30 after jumping from her high-rise apartment in New York City.

Authorities responded to a call around 7:13 a.m. to Kryst’s apartment building on 42nd street after she reportedly jumped from the building. According to TMZ, Kryst lived on the ninth floor and was last seen on a 29th-floor terrace. Hours before her death, Kryst posted a photo to her Instagram page with the caption: “May this day bring you rest and peace.” A note was also left in her apartment, stating that she will leave all her belongings to her mother.

She is well known for representing North Carolina at the Miss USA 2019 pageant and worked as an attorney prior to her win. Kryst also worked as a correspondent for Extra.

Her family said in the following statement, “Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined. Most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor, and colleague — we know her impact will live on.”
