Millionaire Who Killed Girlfriend & Blamed It On ‘Rough Sex’ Is Set To Walk Free

John Broadhurst, a millionaire tycoon, is set to walk free in early October after killing his 26-year-old girlfriend and blaming her death on “rough sex.”

In 2016, after what is described as “a grisly game of sex,” the wealthy 41-year-old left his girlfriend, and mother of one, Natalie Connolly, for dead in a pool of blood at the bottom of a flight of stairs in their Kenrose Mill, Staffordshire, England home. After being jailed for her death, Broadhurst used a controversial defense of “rough sex,” claiming he’d only hurt her “within the boundaries of her masochistic desires.” Subsequent to this case, the Domestic Abuse Bill was created, banning the use of “rough sex” as a legal defense.

In December 2018, after having a murder charged lessened to manslaughter by gross negligence, Broadhurst admitted to his updated charge and was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison. Having now served 22 months of that sentence, the tycoon looks to be freed. During trial, it was revealed that Connolly suffered more than 40 injuries, including internal injuries that her boyfriend claimed happened during “a grisly sex game,” which included him inserting “a bottle of spray carpet cleaner into her vagina;” thus causing severe lacerations and hemorrhaging.
