Even after clarifying his controversial “Nas is irrelevant” comment, 21 Savage is still facing some backlash online, now from comedian and actor Michael Rapaport, who calls him a “Cat in the Hat” rapper.

Michael Rapaport Slams 21 Savage For Calling Nas Irrelevant: ‘It Shows In Your Work That You’re Not A Nas Fan, You’re A Cat In The Hat Rapper’
A few days ago, the Atlanta rapper claimed he didn’t “feel [Nas] is relevant.” 21 was online and said, “He ain’t relevant, though. I don’t feel like he’s relevant, though. He’s not relevant. He just has a loyal ass fanbase. He’s just has a loyal fanbase and he still make good a** music. But, he ain’t relevant.”
After catching tons of backlash, 21 ended up clarifying his comments on Twitter.
He tweeted, “I would never disrespect Nas or any legend who paved the way for me. Y’all be tryna take stuff and run with it [face palm emoji].”
Well, comedian and actor Michael Rapaport took to his podcast and dragged 21 for his “disrespectful” comments.
Rapaport fired off, “Nas is not relevant? It shows in your work, 21 Savage. And I’m glad you’re making money. I’m glad you’re able to take care of everybody, but it’s so disrespectful.”
Rapaport goes on to say that he only sees this kind of behavior in one genre of music. “Only in Hip-Hop, do people do that. Do people degrade and sh*t on… And I gotta pick it up again. I gotta come out again, me, Michael Rapaport. I gotta be the one to say, ‘How dare you?’ To say that Nas isn’t relevant.”
Speaking to 21 about how he could call Nas irrelevant, Rapaport adds, “And we see why you would think Nas isn’t relevant, 21 Savage. ‘Cause when we listen to your music, it shows that you’re not a big Nas fan. You’re probably not a Big Daddy Kane fan; an LL Cool J fan; a Beastie Boys fan; a Gang Starr fan; you’re probably not a fan of any of them.And I hear it in your work.”
Rapaport concludes, “You’re like ‘Cat in the Hat.’ That’s the kind of rapper you are. ‘Cat in the Hat. Jumped over the bat. And he flipped and he flapped. Yappity Yap.’”
