Megan Thee Stallion‘s team is asking for prayers after the 31-year-old rapper was rushed to the hospital upon feeling “very ill” in the middle of her ‘Moulin Rouge’ Broadway show performance.
On Tuesday evening (March 31), reports began breaking claiming Megan, born Megan Pete, abruptly ended her performance on Broadway after falling sick. According to journalist Loren Lorosa, Megan was present for another night of ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical: New York.’
Lorosa said Megan, who plays the role of The Zidler,” was in house at New York’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Megan took to the stage for a few opening scenes, and was doing “great.” However, producers soon abruptly stopped the show.
Lorosa said producers apologized to the audience, while telling everyone, “Stay inside and seated.” Upon asking security if everyone was safe, Lorosa said they told her, “For now. We’ll update you if anything changes.”
Lorosa eventually shared that producers announced that they were removing Megan for the night, without explanation. She was then replaced with a Black male actor, taking over her role as “Zidler.” Lorosa wrote on X:

Additionally, Megan’s hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, took to X and wrote, “Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital.” Furthermore, audience members at the show echoed reports, while speaking out on social media. They said the show started normal enough and Megan took part in the big numbers. However, all of a sudden the show stopped, and she did not come back.
Megan Thee Stallion made her Broadway debut in ‘Moulin Rouge‘ earlier this month. She became the first female performer to play “The Zidler” in the hit musical. She was expected to perform in the Broadway show for eight weeks. No word yet on her condition and if/when she will return to the stage.
