In an interview with Glamour UK’s latest edition, Megan Fox talks about everything from her love life with fiancé Machine Gun Kelly, drinking each other’s blood, and also parenting. While speaking on that topic, Megan shares how she talks to her children about gender identity and letting them express themselves freely.
The Jennifer’s Body actress, who shares her three boys with ex-husband Brian Austin Green, 48; Noah, Bodhi Ransom Green, and Journey River Green, got candid and emotional about the conversations she has had with her children about gender identity and expression, and how she protects her oldest son, who likes to wear dresses. “Noah started wearing dresses when he was about two, and I bought a bunch of books that sort of addressed these things and addressed a full spectrum of what this is,” Megan told the outlet. “Some of the books are written by transgender children. Some of the books are just about how you can be a boy and wear a dress; you can express yourself through your clothing however you want.” Megan got a little teary eyed while explaining that wearing a dress may have absolutely nothing to do with sexuality and can simply be a form of expression. She added, “I’ve incorporated those things into their daily lives so that nobody feels like they are weird or strange or different.”
Although she is big on protecting her kids,
Fox acknowledged that she “can’t control the way other people react to my children” or the things their classmates “have been taught and then repeat to them.” She mentioned that bullying is also a reason why she doesn’t put her children on social media anymore. Her last photo of herself with her children on Instagram after Halloween in 2018.
Aside from that, she’s ultimately happy with her kids: “I’m so proud of my kids. Noah is an unbelievable pianist. Noah can learn Mozart’s concerto in an hour and just absolutely shred on the piano,” she marveled, expressing how she would like to share those moments with people. “But I also don’t want the world to have access to this gentle soul and say all the things that we all know they’re going to say.”
During the interview, Megan switched gears to clarify why exactly she and fiancé Machine Gun Kelly drink each other’s blood. Speaking about their ritualistic practices she said,
“I’m much more controlled,” she explained. “I read tarot cards and I’m into astrology and I’m doing all these metaphysical practices and meditations. And I do rituals on new moons and full moons, and all these things. And so, when I do it, it’s a passage or it is used for a reason. And it is controlled where it’s like, ‘Let’s shed a few drops of blood and each drink it.’ He’s much more haphazard and hectic and chaotic, where he’s willing to just cut his chest open with broken glass and be like, ‘Take my soul.’”
