Marquis Ford Arrested In Connection To Shooting Outside Bossa Nova Restaurant In November
A Los Angeles man was taken into custody Thursday in connection with a deadly shooting in Hollywood, becoming the fourth person who is wanted to face murder charges in the killing.
Marquis Ford, 24, was charged this week in connection with the killing of 23-year-old Jose Ruiz-Gutierrez, who passed away Nov. 23 outside of Bossa Nova Brazilian restaurant in the 7100 block of Sunset Boulevard when he attempted to stop the robbery of his girlfriend, the LAPD declared in a news release.

Ford is currently being held on $2 million bail, according to jail documents and law enforcement, and his case will be presented Monday to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for reporting deliberation, authorities shared.

In December, 21-year-old Jayon Sanders, 20-year-old Abraham Castillo and 20-year-old Tyree Singleton were all accused of murder in the killing, the Los Angeles Times reported. They also will withstand robbery charges, as will another man, 21-year-old Joshua Saulsberry, the Times added.
When the news first broke, authorities assumed there were at least eight people involved in the incident.
