Comedian and actor Marlon Wayans is reportedly facing a child support and custody battle after allegedly fathering a secret 1-year-old daughter. Wayans already shares two sons, Kai, 23, and Shawn, 21, with his ex-girlfriend, Angelica Zachary (aka Angela Zackery), whom he dated from 1992 to 2013. To note: in November 2023, Wayans shared that his daughter Amai had transitioned to his son Kai.
According to an exclusive report by The Blast and new court documents that they obtained, Marlon Wayans is being sued by his alleged baby mama Brittany Moreland. In the alleged docs, Moreland addresses custody plus child support for her one-year-old child, whom she claims she shares with the ‘White Chicks‘ actor.
The publication says that on Monday (March 18), Moreland filed a paternity petition to determine the parental relationship between her, Wayans, and his alleged daughter, Axl July Ivory Wayans. The Blast also reports that the actor’s alleged child’s mother is demanding over $21,000 a month in child support.
The Blast reports that Moreland is seeking primary physical and legal custody of her daughter while also granting visitation rights to the 51-year-old actor. Additionally, the 34-year-old mother is requesting that her legal fees and “reasonable expenses of pregnancy and birth” be taken care of by Wayans.
In addition to her paternity petition, Moreland has also reportedly filed an income and expense declaration which means she is trying to pursue child support from her daughter’s alleged father Marlon Wayans. Moreland reportedly claims that the ‘Scary Movie‘ actor pulls in a monthly salary of $200,000. She further claims that while raising Marlon Wayans’ alleged secret daughter, she has racked up an estimated $22,080 in total annual expenses.
In the alleged docs, Moreland claims that she spends $5,000 monthly on her rent and nearly $9,000 on child care, groceries, and household supplies. She also claims she’s spending $1,500 on clothes, including the child’s program uniforms.
Additionally, in her custody battle with Marlon Wayans, Moreland reportedly wants $2,000 for additional expenses, which she labeled as “child care” so that she can go to work.
As mentioned, Marlon Wayans’ has two sons already Shawn, 21, and Kai, 23. The latter recently transitioned and at the time, Wayans spoke candidly and admitted that it took him a while and took some educating of him to fully accept his new son.
In November 2023 he told ‘The Breakfast Club,’ “My transition as a parent, going from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance. They know I love them. They see me trying, and I’m happy, but I have to respect their wishes.”
He continued, “If they can’t get that in the household with their father and their mother, how the f**k do I send them out into the world with that kind of confidence? I’m just so proud of them being them.”
