On Friday, June 24, 2022 the second annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards took Los Angeles by storm!

From the hundreds of Black faces celebrating Black excellence and ownership to the biggest names in Hollywood hitting the black carpet, the #HUImpactAwards2022 was a night to remember and if you weren’t there, we’ve got you covered!

Taking place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, the HU Impact Awards was created by Hollywood Unlocked founder and visionary Jason Lee and hosted by Grammy and Emmy Award-winning actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish.

This year’s awards show saw the following legendary celebrities, culture shifters and pop culture figures: Jenifer Lewis, N.O.R.E., Jabari Banks, Jordan L. Jones, Jeremy Meeks, Claudia Jordan, Rosa Acosta, Avery Wilson, Law Roach, James DuBose, Natalie Nunn, Lemuel Plummer, Janeisha John, Chrisean Rock and many more.

Starting the night off, White House press secretary Korine Jean-Pierre sent in a video congratulating Hollywood Unlocked and Jason Lee on creating its own impact in the media and pop culture industry.

Tiffany Haddish Hosts The 2nd Annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards


Tiffany Haddish then took to the stage and  welcomed presenter Claudia Jordan, who introduced honoree N.O.R.E., who won the “Culture Award” alongside
DJ EFN for their ‘Drink Champs’ podcast.

The next honoree was California congresswoman Karen Bass, who was stuck in D.C. lobbying, but sent in a video thanking HU for her “Community Award.”

Musical artist David Sebastian took to the stage for the first performance of the night. He was followed by Jabari Banks who introduced iconic actress and ‘Mother of Black Hollywood’ Jenifer Lewis, who won the “Perseverance Award.”

In her beautiful, standing ovation-worthy thank you speech, Lewis not only called the HU Impact Awards trophy ugly, but she went on to show off her high-kick and congratulate Jason on his personal achievements and those of Hollywood Unlocked.

Lewis also condemned the Supreme Court for its recent overturning of the landmark Roe v. Wade right to abortion decision.

LA rapper Blueface then introduced singer Kelis who won the “Innovation Award.” HU founder Jason Lee then took to the stage with a brief speech. Tiffany Haddish then introduced “Fearlessness Award” recipient and singer/rapper Lizzo.

During her speech, Lizzo revealed that she pledged $500,000 to Planned Parenthood and abortion funds, and that Live Nation matched her donation.

Following, Tiffany Haddish returned to the stage and surprising the entire awards show audience, Tiffany introduced the iconic R&B songstress and recently inducted Songwriter Hall of Famer
Mariah Carey.

Together Tiffany and Mariah introduced the undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, who received the “Pioneer Award.”

Before exciting the stage, Mariah, Tiffany and Floyd all shared jokes, laughs, gratitude to Jason Lee and Hollywood Unlocked.

Ending the night off right, Gospel songstress Leandria Johnson blessed the audience with a couple of her hits “Church” and “Heaven.”
