Man Shot At Least 64 Times As He Is Released From A Chicago Jail

A man who was being released from Cook County Jail in Chicago on Saturday was ambushed with as many as 64 bullet, according to NBC.

The man was identified as 31-year-old Londre Sylvester, who is also a known rapper in the Windy City of Chicago. Sylvester was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Sylvester had just been released from the County jail and was walking to a vehicle that was waiting for him and then suddenly several suspects “exited two separate vehicles and all began to shoot in Sylvester’s direction, striking him numerous times,” and the suspects got back in there vehicles and fled the scene, Chicago police reports.

A 60-year-old woman who was with Sylvester was shot in one of her knees and was hospitalized in good condition, police said. A second woman, who is in her 30s, suffered a graze wound to her mouth, police said.

Londre Sylvester had just posted $5,000 bail on Friday for allegedly failing to meet conditions of his previous release in a 2020 felony gun case.
