Man Commits Suicide Inside Courtroom After Receiving Guilty Verdict
A man killed himself inside a courtroom in North Dakota on Monday.
KVRR reports that the man cut his own throat inside the federal courthouse in front of the judge and courtroom attendees.
“He produced an edge weapon and cut his throat” Dakota US Marshal Dallas Carlson .
The man was identified as 55-year-old Jeffrey Ferris, who was on trial for an April 2020 incident where he allegedly drove a jeep toward a group of children and almost hit them.

”The guy turned around and you could see the inside of his neck. He had slit his neck with some object… don’t know if it was plastic or what it was. One of the other attorneys in there said it looked like a pen, but his attorney said it looked like a scalpel,” a witness said to Valley News Live.
Ferris also faced charges of assault with a deadly weapon, reckless endangerment, terrorizing, and using a firearm in a violent felony. It is believed that he cut his throat with some type of plastic shank.
