BREAKING UPDATE: Jamichael Jones, Man Suspected Of Killing Rapper Trouble, Is Now In Police Custody
Atlanta rapper known as Trouble was shot and killed in a suburb of the city on Sunday, as we previously reported. He was just 34-years-old at the time.
Officials later shared that they were looking for a man identified as Jamichael Jones, 33. There were several arrest warrants out for Jones, who is from Atlanta, on felony murder, aggravated assault, and home invasion charges. On Monday, Fox 5 Atlanta reporter @ Joi Dukes tweeted that “The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office has announced 33 year-old Jamichael Jones, the suspect in the shooting death of Atlanta rapper #Trouble, has agreed to turn himself in to the jail.“

The news outlet shared another tweet this Tuesday morning saying, “[Jamichael] Jones is now in custody. We have a crew standing by for the news conference from Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office that’s supposed to start soon. Live reports are coming up on @GoodDayAtlanta starting at 4:30 am. Join us.”
Police are now also crediting the alleged shooter’s mother for his successful arrest. In the clip taken by 11 Alive, Jones is seen in handcuffs wearing a green hoodie covering his head while being escorted by officers. Take a look below:
What Happened That Night?

Officials said the rapper was visiting a woman at the apartment complex where she lived when he was allegedly shot once in the chest by Jamichael Jones. The fatal shooting occurred before 3:30 a.m. Sunday inside a Lake St. James apartment complex in Conyers, Georgia, Canty
The Atlanta native was pronounced dead at the scene. Jedidia Canty, the public information officer for the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that it was a domestic situation. Although Canty didn’t provide any other details on what led to the shooting at the time, he said that Trouble did not know Jones.

The rapper’s record label Def Jam Recordings remembered Trouble, whose real name is Mariel Semonte Orr, in an Instagram post Sunday:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the children, loved ones, and fans of Trouble,” his record label, Def Jam, said in an Instagram post. “A true voice for his city and an inspiration to the community he proudly represented. RIP Skoob.”
One day before his death, the rapper tweeted he would be more alert while walking the Atlanta streets. He wrote: “Its toooooooo many 12 of for me tonight IM GOIN HOME!! Yall move smoove outchea.”
Trouble – who was also known as Skoob – had collaborated with other major artists such as Young Thug, Drake, The Weeknd, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz and others. His last full-length studio effort was 2020’s “Thug Luv” featuring 2 Chainz, Boosie Badazz, City Girls, Jacquees and Scalez.
